The Urricane Poplar

Poplars treesgrow talls in landscapes with abundance of green and water.

You may wonder why we chose to create one of their leaves as part of our first products, and the answer is a small forest, in a pot, in my terrace. A pot big enough to allow them to grow, but in a way that is still acceptable to the building regulation, but still a pot.

This improbable forest was born elsewhere 3 years ago, in a smaller vase, near the kitchen window of a third floor flat in another building. Close to the basil to be more precise.

Poplars seed flight very high but the third floor is quite bold even for them, so how did they get there? With a hurricane!

An uncommon event in Luxembourg, that luckily generated only material damages and stories to tell to future generations. When the small plants started to grew, we couldn’t find the courage to take them out, considering the number of plants that the wind damaged on that day, so we found a place for them to grow.

And here they are, keeping us company, allowing us to appreciate the beauty of the leaves, the differences in shapes and colors, and making us remember that unexpected events are full of possibilities.
